Privacy Policy - Metropolize, Inc
Effective Date: 6/8/2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Metropolize, Inc ("Metropolize," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses personal information when you use our website and software as a service (the "Service").
We collect only the information we need to provide, secure, and operate the Service. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your personal information for targeted advertising.
2. Information We Collect
We currently store the following account information:
Email address, which we use for account access, account communication, support, and service notices.
Generated user ID, which is an internal UUID that we use to associate resources with your account.
We may also process limited operational data, such as IP address, user agent, request metadata, timestamps, service logs, security events, error information, and aggregate or non-identifying metrics necessary to provide, secure, debug, and maintain the Service.
We do not intentionally collect or store payment card numbers, physical addresses, phone numbers, or government identifiers as part of the Service.
3. Payments
Payments are handled by Polar. We do not store or collect your payment card details. Payment information is provided directly to Polar and is governed by Polar's privacy policy and applicable payment processing terms.
We may receive limited payment-related information from Polar, such as customer identifiers, subscription status, entitlement status, invoices, or webhook events, so that we can provide paid features and maintain accurate account status.
You can review Polar's privacy policy at https://polar.sh/legal/privacy.
4. How We Use Information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
To create, authenticate, and maintain your account.
To associate user-owned resources with the correct account.
To provide, operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service.
To provide customer support and respond to requests.
To process subscriptions, entitlements, billing status, and payment-related events.
To detect, prevent, and investigate security incidents, abuse, fraud, or technical issues.
To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
5. Cookies and Telemetry
We may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for authentication, security, account access, or basic website functionality. We do not currently use cookies for targeted advertising.
Access logs and security logs may include IP address, user agent, timestamps, and request metadata. We use this information for security, abuse prevention, debugging, reliability, and service operations. We design service metrics to avoid user-identifying dimensions such as email address, user ID, conversation ID, request ID, IP address, or user agent unless a specific security or operational need requires otherwise.
6. Service Providers
We use service providers to host, operate, secure, and bill for the Service. These providers may process personal information only as needed to provide services to us and are not permitted to use personal information for their own unrelated purposes.
Our current service providers include:
Amazon Web Services for hosting, infrastructure, authentication, databases, logs, and operational monitoring.
Polar for payment processing, subscription management, and entitlement-related payment events.
7. Disclosures
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may disclose personal information only in the following limited situations:
To service providers that process information on our behalf.
To comply with law, legal process, or valid requests from public authorities.
To protect the rights, property, security, or safety of Metropolize, our users, or others.
In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets.
8. Data Retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We retain operational logs and telemetry for limited periods needed for security, debugging, reliability, and legal compliance.
If you request deletion, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or payment-record obligations.
9. International Transfers
Metropolize is based in the United States, and we may process and store information in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. If we transfer personal information from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland to countries that have not been found to provide an adequate level of protection, we use appropriate safeguards where required by law.
10. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
12. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to appeal a decision or lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, and the right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
